3 Great Clean-Up Solutions [That Don’t Involve Killing Your Messy Husband]

by | Mar 14, 2019 | Carpet Cleaning

It’s true that husbands are lovable creatures — they go off to work early and labor hard to provide for their families. They try to come home at the end of an often exhausting day and give of themselves to their wives and children…enjoying the fruits of their labor.

It’s also true that husbands (although we aren’t comfortable admitting it) are imperfect. We do have flaws and sometimes it’s these shortcomings that threaten to undo all the good that they accomplish.

What are we talking about here? What are some examples of “dumb things” that husbands do that cause their wives to say…

“ARGHH! I could just (we know you don’t really mean what you just said) you!”

Scenario 1-

Tracking Dirt on the Carpet

Your husband comes home from a grueling day at work and expecting a warm hug from you instead gets reprimanded for tracking dirt on the carpet when he knows that he is supposed to remove his shoes.

His perspective — no hug because of a little dirt. Your perspective — he just tarnished your beautiful home with his lameness.

The solution is simple. First, speaking as a husband, cut him some slack. Remember, he is tired and just wasn’t thinking. Also, most dirt of that nature will easily vacuum out when it dries. Or, take a damp towel with just plain water and gently massage the stain. It will often blot right up. Don’t deny him dinner (or worse) just because he is an unthinking lout…he is lovable after all.

Scenario 2 –

Wine Spills

Your hard-working husband sits down in his favorite chair to enjoy a glass of wine before dinner. You express concern because you know he is clumsy, even though he says he will be careful. We all know the outcome is often your worst fear — wine spills all over the furniture and carpets.

And you say… “ARGHH! I could just (we know you don’t really mean what you just said) you!”

Again, the solution is simple. Blot the stain with plain water and an absorbent towel and most wine stains will disappear. If it doesn’t, and you are a member of Rainbow Carpet Cleaning’s Ultimate Care Club all you have to do is call us and we will come and remove the stain for FREE (see below).

Scenario 3 –

Glue, Marker, and Glitter Messes

Your loving husband and father is helping one of the kids with a school project and guess what….the glue or the indelible marker or the glitter or “whatever” gets all over the place.

The solution is the same…take a deep breath …love your husband for his good intentions and try the same above steps and voila! Quite often the problem is solved.

In Conclusion
Speaking for the husbands of the world…we know we aren’t perfect, but we are trying!

When a husband mess inevitably happens, take a deep breath, remind yourself it wasn’t intentional, and try the tips below:

Solution 1 – Dirt on your carpet? Let it dry and see how easily you can vacuum it up! If you can’t wait for it to dry, take a damp towel with plain water and gently massage the stain.

Solution 2 – Wine spills ruin your evening? Blot the stain with plain water and an absorbent towel and it will likely disappear.

Solution 3 – Marker, glitter, or glue everywhere? Blot it out with a damp towel, or, in the case of glue or glitter, let it dry and vacuum it up.

And if the above doesn’t work or it’s too much for you to deal with on a regular basis, you can always consider joining the Rainbow Carpet Cleaning’s Ultimate Care Club. You receive a bunch of free services like free “husband mess cleanup.”
